Our History

The GPS Group (made up of GPS Development Finance Pty Ltd and GPS Investment Fund Limited) was founded in 1993 by our Managing Director, Richard Woodhead. After over 30 years funding residential construction and development projects, Richard leads the team with a level of experience hard to find in the industry today. Richard is backed by a management team with varied experience and backgrounds, and a support team built by a quality graduate program.

Meet our team

Richard Woodhead

Managing Director

Richard started his career in 1982. He worked for several law firms specialising in ligation, construction and property law. He was one of the founders of the GPS Group, which commenced private lending in 1994. Richard maintains a hands-on and full time role at GPS where his 35 plus years of experience as a lawyer and private lender provide great depth of experience and practicality.

Monica De Nino

Head of Lending

Monica monitors the loan process from start to finish, including establishing acceptable lending parameters, credit application due diligence, settlement processes and construction monitoring. She has extensive experience in managing a variety of GPS loans, providing leadership and guidance in the Portfolio Management Team. Monica holds a Bachelor of Urban Development (Majoring in Property Economics) from QUT.

Marnie Woodhead

Paul Gude

Portfolio Manager

Paul brings extensive experience to GPS in lending and portfolio management, with previous roles in the Banking, Non-Bank and Funds Management sectors, including the last 20+ years in Property Finance specific roles with a focus on Development transactions. Paul is responsible for the effective management of all aspects of each client relationship, from the initial assessment of the transaction through to the successful completion of the project.

Lindsay Brown

Lending Mentor

Having worked solely within the Banking and Finance sector for his career, Lindsay has is skilled in Lending Security documentation, Loan initiation and structuring, Portfolio Management, Credit Review and Debt Recovery. His passion lies within the Construction Finance Industry, and he passes on the knowledge he has gained through the development of the lending skills of the GPS  Development Finance Team.

Shelby Clark

Chief Operating Officer

As Chief Operating Officer, Shelby’s day-to-day sees her looking after critical processes of the organisation. With a background spanning marketing and operational roles within the business, Shelby is a powerhouse of all things GPS.  Prior to her current position, Shelby was the Chief Operating Officer for an international franchise in the Financial Services sector. She has an Advanced Masters in Marketing and International Business from UQ.

Carmel Cule

Portfolio Manager

With over 20 years of experience running her own construction company before moving to GPS, Carmel is extremely knowledgeable in the process of getting a project from start to finish. Carmel monitors all of her own loan processes, including establishing acceptable lending parameters, credit application due diligence, settlement processes and construction monitoring.

Joshua Rowe

Head of Finance and Funding

Josh helps administer the funding coordination and financial control of GPS, including the overseeing of treasury functions and regulatory compliance. Josh first joined GPS’s graduate program as a Cadet Portfolio Manager in 2018, before moving into a full-time finance role. Josh has a Bachelor of Commerce from The University of Queensland.

Bree Childs

Paralegal

As our Paralegal, Bree plays a vital role in supporting our Portfolio Managers with loan documentation and lending process guidance. With nearly nine years of corporate advisory experience at a commercial firm, she brings skills in intellectual property law, trademark law, banking and finance law, and corporate governance and compliance. Bree is currently completing her Bachelor of Laws (Honours) and Bachelor of Science at QUT.

Gabbie Nyirabagenzi

Accounts Assistant

Gabbie provides day-to-day support to GPS’s Head of Finance and Funding, administering funding coordination and financial control, further driving GPS’s smooth drawdown times. She brings experience from roles spanning tax accounting and team leadership and is currently completing a dual Masters in Commerce and a Masters in International Economics & Finance at the University of Queensland.

Connor Hindom

Portfolio Manager

Connor specialises in residential development and construction finance, bringing more than a decade of experience across Big Four banks, private lenders, and startup credit institutions. Known for his clear, disciplined approach, he helps developers structure loans to fit each project’s unique requirements. Developers value Connor for his financial insight, risk management expertise, and ability to deliver lending solutions that work in practice, not just on paper.

Shenaya Palmer

Investor Services/Administration

Shenaya stands at the core of our Investor Services and Administration team.  With a foundation in business management and leadership, she brings over a decade of experience in client relations, operational support, and process management. Her everyday role requires her skills in communication, organisation and problem solving to deliver efficient and reliable outcomes. Shenaya is committed to maintaining high standards of service and supporting the smooth execution of administrative and investor related functions within her team.

Isabella Durkin

Admin Assistant

Isabella provides administrative and operational support across GPS’s investor services and funding teams. Early in her career, she is eager to expand her knowledge of funds management and develop her skills within the finance industry. She is currently completing a Bachelor of Advanced Finance and Economics (Honours) at the University of Queensland.

Rhys Knight

Marketing Manager

Rhys is responsible for overseeing marketing activities across the group, including communications, digital channels, and brand development.

Rhys works closely with the executive team to support investor engagement and ensure GPS’s marketing remains consistent, clear, and aligned with the organisation’s long-standing focus on stability and service.
