About us

Richard started his career in 1982. He worked for several law firms specialising in ligation, construction and property law. He was one of the founders of the GPS Group, which commenced private lending in 1994. Richard maintains a hands-on and full time role at GPS where his 35 plus years of experience as a lawyer and private lender provide great depth of experience and practicality.

Lindsay has over 20 years’ experience in portfolio and loan management with Suncorp Metway and applies this great wealth of experience to the ongoing mentoring and development of the Portfolio Management Team. He oversees the review of initial loan applications and is responsible for training new staff.

Monica monitors the loan process from start to finish, including establishing acceptable lending parameters, credit application due diligence, settlement processes and construction monitoring. She has extensive experience in managing a variety of GPS loans, providing leadership and guidance in the Portfolio Management Team. Monica holds a Bachelor of Urban Development (Majoring in Property Economics) from QUT.

Despite starting with GPS as the Head of Marketing, Shelby is now the Chief Operating Officer looking after the day to day processes of the business. Prior to GPS Shelby was the Chief Operating Officer for an international franchise in the Financial Services sector. Shelby is also still responsible for all marketing and communications at GPS. She has an Advanced Masters in Marketing and International Business from UQ.

Rachael is an AIQS Certified Quantity Surveyor with 25 years’ experience in the construction industry. Rachael joined GPS in 2021 and brings a wealth of development, contracting and cost management experience to GPS for the benefit of its Borrowers and Investors. Rachael holds a Bachelor Degree in Quantity Surveying from the Queensland University of Technology.

Paul brings extensive experience to GPS in lending and portfolio management, with previous roles in the Banking, Non-Bank and Funds Management sectors, including the last 20+ years in Property Finance specific roles with a focus on Development transactions. Paul is responsible for the effective management of all aspects of each client relationship, from the initial assessment of the transaction through to the successful completion of the project.

As our Head of Retail Funding, with over 4 years of experience at GPS, Olivia is responsible for ensuring the smooth running of the Funding Team and utilises a wealth of knowledge to answer any retail investor questions. Olivia has a dual qualification in Accounting & Finance from The University of Queensland and brings to the team over 10 years of experience across sales and administration.

Jesse is the Fund Manager for GPS looking after the various Funds here at GPS. With the assistance of the rest of the Funding team, they work closely with Richard Woodhead to make sure that our investors get the best possible outcome. Jesse has a Bachelor of Commerce (Majoring in Finance and Financial Planning) from Deakin University in Victoria.

Courtney is the first friendly voice you’ll hear when calling GPS. She provides essential assistance to all staff, helping the office run as smoothly and efficiently as possible. Courtney has a Certificate 3 in Business Administration and joined the team with over 4 years of administration experience.

James is currently completing a Bachelor of Advanced Business & Finance from the University of Queensland and brings a keen understanding of development finance to the GPS team as our Financial Services Grad. While studying, James accumulated hands-on experience in finance-focused roles across the Australian IT and Queensland Government Infrastructure industries.

As Portfolio Manager, Marnie assists borrowers with the enquiry process, reviews their applications and conducts due diligence. Marnie provides exemplary customer service to borrowers, assisting them to get their loans settled in a timely manner. She has a Bachelor of Business majoring in Real Estate and Development from the University of Queensland and is furthering her education with a law degree at QUT.
