Our History
The GPS Group (made up of GPS Development Finance and GPS Investment Fund Limited) was founded in 1993 by our Managing Director, Richard Woodhead. After over 25 years funding residential construction and development projects, Richard leads the team with a level of experience hard to find in the industry today. Richard is backed by a management team with varied experience and backgrounds, and a support team built by a quality graduate program.

Richard Woodhead
Richard started his career in 1982. He worked for several law firms specialising in ligation, construction and property law. He was one of the founders of the GPS Group, which commenced private lending in 1994. Richard maintains a hands-on and full time role at GPS where his 35 plus years of experience as a lawyer and private lender provide great depth of experience and practicality.
Monica De Nino
Monica monitors the loan process from start to finish, including establishing acceptable lending parameters, credit application due diligence, settlement processes and construction monitoring. She has extensive experience in managing a variety of GPS loans, providing leadership and guidance in the Portfolio Management Team. Monica holds a Bachelor of Urban Development (Majoring in Property Economics) from QUT.
Marnie Woodhead
As Portfolio Manager, Marnie assists borrowers with the enquiry process, reviews their applications and conducts due diligence. Marnie provides exemplary customer service to borrowers, assisting them to get their loans settled in a timely manner. She has a Bachelor of Business majoring in Real Estate and Development from the University of Queensland and is furthering her education with a law degree at QUT.
Paul Gude
Paul brings extensive experience to GPS in lending and portfolio management, with previous roles in the Banking, Non-Bank and Funds Management sectors, including the last 20+ years in Property Finance specific roles with a focus on Development transactions. Paul is responsible for the effective management of all aspects of each client relationship, from the initial assessment of the transaction through to the successful completion of the project.
Bree Childs
As our Paralegal, Bree plays a vital role in supporting our Portfolio Managers with loan documentation and lending process guidance. With nearly nine years of corporate advisory experience at a commercial firm, she brings skills in intellectual property law, trademark law, banking and finance law, and corporate governance and compliance. Bree is currently completing her Bachelor of Laws (Honours) and Bachelor of Science at QUT.
Shelby Clark
As Chief Operating Officer, Shelby’s day-to-day sees her looking after critical processes of the organisation. With a background spanning marketing and operational roles within the business, Shelby is a powerhouse of all things GPS. Prior to her current position, Shelby was the Chief Operating Officer for an international franchise in the Financial Services sector. She has an Advanced Masters in Marketing and International Business from UQ.
Jessica Brown
Jess is our versatile Marketing Manager with a diverse background in digital marketing, advertising, public relations, event management, and partnerships. Jess is passionate about delivering quality campaigns which are aimed at further elevating GPS’s expert voice. She has a dual degree in Marketing and Advertising from the University of Queensland.
Gabbie Nyirabagenzi
Gabbie provides day-to-day support to GPS’s Head of Finance and Funding, administering funding coordination and financial control, further driving GPS’s smooth drawdown times. She brings experience from roles spanning tax accounting and team leadership and is currently completing a dual Masters in Commerce and a Masters in International Economics & Finance at the University of Queensland.
Joshua Rowe
Josh helps administer the funding coordination and financial control of GPS, including the overseeing of treasury functions and regulatory compliance. Josh first joined GPS’s graduate program as a Cadet Portfolio Manager in 2018, before moving into a full-time finance role. Josh has a Bachelor of Commerce from The University of Queensland.
